Obituary For Amber Dawn Reese
Amber Reese was born Amber Dawn Wiedrich on November 20, 1983 to Robert and Ann Wiedrich in Rapid City, South Dakota. Her life tragically ended on June 8, 2016 while riding home from work. Viewing will be at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home on June 16th at 11:00 followed by a service there at 1:00. Burial will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery at 2:30 with Full Military Honors. A reception will be held at TREA at 3:30.Growing up in this area allowed Amber the experience of participating in 4-H and FFA. She gained knowledge in dog training, showing rabbits, cooking and horse shows. Through the dedicated teachings from both friends and family she learned an appreciation for the love of animals, confidence in herself, and the disciplined effort needed to achieve her goals. Amber attended Stevens High School where she met Kevin Reese. They were married in 2004 and together they joined the United States Marine Corp. While they were participating in this elite, disciplined group they learned valuable life lessons that would prepare them for their future. It was during their USMC career that they were blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Mikayla.Life is ever-changing. After the Marines, Amber stayed in Maryland working as a global security control center operator. She pursued her dream of a college education and was always on the dean’s honor list. In March of 2015 Amber was inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society for her accomplishments at school. She was close to earning a Masters Degree in Cyber Security even though she was working full time and struggling with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) for the past year. Four years ago, James Dolan became the new love in her life and a major part of Amber and Mikayla’s family.Amber is survived by her daughter Mikayla, parents Ann and Robert Wiedrich of Rapid City, and her sister Kristine Franzoy of Hatch, New Mexico.
