Obituary For Ann May McConkey

Ann McConkey, 88, Rapid City, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Clarkson Health Care in Rapid City. She is a new angel and will be joining her husband. She was deeply loved and we will miss her so much. Ann was born September 11, 1932 in Whitewood, SD to George and Mable (Long) Davis. She joined three brothers and five sisters.

She met and married the love of her life Harold McConkey and they were married May 25, 1948. They were married for 60 years. They always did so much together and enjoyed every moment.

Ann moved to Paris, Illinois and settled into farming life with Harold and that is where their four children were born. They moved to Rapid City in 1963 and have been here since.

She was a great Mom, grandma and great grandma to all of us. Ann loved spending time with all of the little ones and watching them grow. She loved playing Bingo at the Bingo Halls (Moose, Eagles, VFW and TREA), where she met and made many friends. There was no one that was a stranger. She enjoyed all of her family and friends and loved being around people. She loved doing puzzles, playing cards and games. We miss you MOM and will think of you often.

Ann is survived by her four children, Vivian (Ron) Reub, Stephen McConkey, Harold (Becky) McConkey and Janet (Neil) Zetah; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Rieger, Wildwood, MO and Mable Flaigg, Vale, SD and one brother Bob Davis, Mohonet, IL. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Mom and her family want to say THANK YOU to the staff and nurses of Clarkson Health Care for all of the great care that you gave her.
