Obituary For Anthony H Pierce

Anthony (Tony) Harold Pierce, 45, began his final journey and earned his wings on March 28, 2022. He died at Monument Health in Rapid City as a result of COVID. Tony was born December 31, 1976 at the Custer Community Hospital to Harold and Barbara Pierce of Custer. He joined a brother, Gene, and a sister, Mishawn. He was educated in the Custer Schools. He married Desarae Meredith of Chadron, NE on July 5, 2002. To this union were born three children. A lifetime resident of the Black Hills, Tony was a truck driver most of his life. He was diagnosed with muscular sclerosis in 2008. He was caught in the blizzard of 2016 and was lost for a period of 27 hours. Grateful for having had the opportunity to share his life are his parents, Harold of Custer and Barbara of Rapid City; children Shawn of Rapid City and Kaleah and Kiera of Chadron, NE; brothers, Gene Pierce of Tennessee and Ryan (Kate) Pierce of Bagdad, AZ; sister, Mishawn (Jason) Larson of Lewiston, MT; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leslie Pierce and Lorraine Griffin; maternal grandparents, Gene and Louise Goins; step sister, Dawn Pierce; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
