Audrey Irene Dunagan, 80, of Rapid City died on March 19, 2021 at Monument Health Hospice House in Rapid City, South Dakota. Audrey Irene Dunagan was born April 28, 1940 to Elmer G and Irene ( Kaphingst) Schaunaman in Ellendale, ND. She grew up on a farm between Forbes and Ellendale. She went to school and graduated from Ellendale High School. She met Reuben Schnaidt and married him on September 28, 1958. They lived in various places in South Dakota until they settled in Leola. They had 3 children, Kristie, Karie and Rod. Audrey has lived and worked in both Minnesota and Washington state. In 1993, Audrey moved back to South Dakota to be closer to her daughter Karie and granddaughter Destini. Audrey has had many jobs over the years including dental assistant, bar owner, fry cook and of course her many years at Target. Audrey enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo, putting together puzzles, her tv shows, and playing games on her ‘ipad’. You could always find her by looking for the crowd or listening for her laugh. Audrey loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had traveled to Norway to visit her daughter Kristie and her grandchildren Nicholas and Benjamin. One of her favorite things was when Destini or Tyler stopped by for a visit. She also loved to see her great-granddaughter Celine play over the internet. Audrey loved her church, Pastor Jimmy, and all the people in her church. She love the feeling of community and all the hugs. When Covid came and she could no longer physically be there she would attend every week online. But she missed the hugs. Audrey had many friends that loved her . She was loved and will be missed. Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Kristie Hole, Karie Callaway; grandchildren: Derrick Logan, Nicholas Hole, Benjamin Hole, Joshua Schumacher, Destini Callaway, Tyler Callaway; great grandchildren: Celine Hole, Isabella Schumacher, Eayn Schumacher; sister Bonnie Gannon, brother Terry Schaunaman ; dear friends: Edna Pecall, Donna Riley, Rolando Bodden.
