Obituary For Barbara Louise Baye

Barbara Louise Baye passed away peacefully at a Colorado hospital Friday March 8, 2019 with family at her side. She was 76.

Barbara, daughter of Clarence and Ursula Bartel, was born on January 7, 1943 in Bertha Minnesota. She and her family moved to Martin, SD, in 1953. Barbara graduated from Martin High School in 1961. She then entered, and graduated from Huron School of Nursing. Barbara worked as a nurse for 45 years and retired from Rapid City Regional Hospital in 2009.

While in Huron she met Thomas Baye. Thomas and Barbara were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Philip, SD on Feb 13, 1965. To this union, six children were born: Kristina Baye of Rapid City; Tracy Baye of Rapid City, Frances Baye of San Francisco, CA, Julia Baye of Bismarck, ND, Joseph Baye of San Diego, CA, and Anthony Baye of Rapid City, SD.

Barbara in survived by her children; two brothers, Karl (Joyce) Bartel and Paul (Renata) Bartel, two sisters-in-law, Darlene Baye and Betty (Sonny) LaBeau, two nieces and 5 nephews, and her four legged companion Nim. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, one brother-in-law, Kenneth Baye, her parents, Clarence and Ursula Bartel, and Thomas’ parents Emil and Margaret Baye.
