Obituary For Beverly Myers Nelson

Beverly Myers Nelson, 80, Rapid City, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Rapid City Regional Hospice House. She was born November 11, 1929 in Rapid City to Lee Carl and Louise (Galster) Myers. Her paternal grandparents were Dorsey William and Ruberta (Stanley) Myers, both of West Virginia. Her maternal grandparents were Gottlieb G. Galster, Sr. of Odessa, Crimea, Russia and Freida Burchart Galster of Tripp, SD. She married Otis Clay Nelson on December 6, 1949 in Rapid City. She was a charter member of the Rapid City Society for Genealogical Research. She was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 5 years and Control Data (later Sanmina SCI) for 22 years. She enjoyed many hobbies including driving across the US while touring attractions and visiting relatives.The many people who were fortunate to have known her, have experienced her kindness, generosity, positive attitude and her phenomenal sense of humor. She never lost those qualities, even after being diagnosed with Mesothelioma, November, 2008. Her courage and strength are inspiration to us all.She is survived by 3 daughters, Terri Lee Galbraith, Julli Sue Nelson both of Rapid City and Vicki Jo Nelson, Sacramento, CA; 6 grandchildren, Tanja Galbraith Wilke, Matthew Galbraith, Aaron Galbraith, Dustin Voss, Daniel Voss and Tiffani Thomas; 3 great granddaughters, Janaye Galbraith, Cora Spease and Malina Unkle and a brother, Gary Myers (Sue Burrus), Rapid City.
