Obituary For Charles Eli Davis

Charles Eli Davis, 71 passed away on May 6, 2020 at Monument Health Hospital. Charles passed away due to many health issues. He was a lifetime resident of Rapid City, SD. Charles was born on February 20, 1949 to Leo and Lucile (Delbridge) Davis. Charles and his dad owned and operated Midwest Ditching until his dad retired in 1980. Charles then took over the company under Midwestern Ditching. Over the many years he made lifelong friends through his endeavors in snowmobiling, racing and construction. Charles married the love of his life, Carolyn F. Palmer on August 21, 1979. Charles is survived by his wife, Carolyn; Sister Carolyn Hunt; Brother Darrell Davis; Son Michael Davis; two daughters, Pamala (Mark) Thompson and Priscilla Palmer all of Rapid City. Charles pride and joy were his grandchildren, Tyler (Sara) Davis of Fairmont, MN, Melissa (Andy) Rivers, Daytona Thompson of Rapid City, great grandchildren Bentley and Kymzley Rivers of Rapid City. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Dale, one sister Leona and one daughter Tonya. A celebratiion of life will be held at a later date. Once a date has been determined, it will be posted on the Dakota Rods and Classic Facebook Page.
