Obituary For Cherie L. Morris
Cherie Lynn Morris loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, 65 of Rapid City SD, went home to the Lord to be with her mom on September 24,2023, at Monument Hospice House after a long courageous battle with cancer. By her side was her loving husband of 45 years. Cherie’s life didn’t come to an end with her death, but will be carried through her loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Cherie was welcomed to this world by her mother and father, Barbara and Fred Morris on March 23,1958 in Rapid City, SD. She grew up the only girl with three protective brothers by her side. After graduating from Rapid City Central High School, she worked for a short period for Morris Construction, her family’s business. Working with her parents and three brothers at her young age consisted of driving dump trucks and running various equipment. In the midst of graduating school and working, Cherie met her life long partner and married the love of her life, Richard Rosales Jr on September 8, 1979. They stayed in Rapid City and settled down where they had their three daughters, Holli, Heather, and Hope. While raising their three children, Cherie worked in different places throughout the food industry. In her free time, Cherie enjoyed going with her husband on cruises through the hills to explore new places. If she wasn’t exploring, she had her hands full spending time with her many grand and great grandchildren. The simplest things brought Cherie joy like being a grandma, jamming classic rock music with the windows down, or driving like a race car driver. Through all the years many things changed for Cherie, but the one thing that remained the same was her contagious laugh, bright smile, and loving heart.
Cherie is survived by her husband and life-long partner Richard Rosales Jr of Rapid City; three daughters Holli Morris (Sean McHenry), Heather Rosales, and Hope Rosales (Phillip McCloskey) all of Rapid City; ten grandchildren Destiny, Danielle, Tanisha, Devin, Latrell, Nakiah, Keishawn, Lilyana, Phillip, and Ella all of Rapid City; Eight great-grandchildren of Rapid City; three brothers Sam Morris of Mount Shasta CA, Mitch Morris, and Mark Morris both of Rapid City, two important sister figures Kris and Laura; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her husband\'s big family that treated her with love.
Cherie was preceded in death by her mother and father Barbara and Fred Morris, Granddaughter Jayla Lei, and niece Kalli Morris.
