Obituary For Christopher ‘Chris’ Louis Swallow

Christopher “Chris” Louis Swallow, 58, of Piedmont, South Dakota, passed away September 28th, 2019. Chris was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 11th, 1960, to Harold and Peggy Swallow. He graduated from Sturgis Brown High School and continued on, to receive an autobody degree from Western Dakota Vo-Tech. Chris enjoyed many things in life, some of which were gardening, riding motorcycles, fishing and playing cards and board games with his friends and family. Chris was an innovator and had a knack for designing and building things from bird houses to the house he resided in. He was also a skilled cook and often gathered friends and family alike, at his home, for food and fun. He will be remembered as a chef, gardener, creator, artist, jokester, champion of cards, nature lover and friend but above all else a loving father. Chris is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Peggy Swallow, a half-brother, Phillip Whiteley and many beloved aunts and uncles. Chris is survived by his three daughters: Felicia “Monkey”, Natasha “Goober”, and Vanessa “Bug” Swallow, his furry, four-legged grandson Bentley, as well as his half siblings Ronnie (Judy) Whiteley of TX, James Whiteley of OK and Nathia Thompson of CA. He is survived by countless other family members and friends as well as friends who are regarded as family. There will be a celebration of Chris’s life held between 1pm and 4pm on Sunday October 13th, 2019 at 10539 Main Street, Piedmont, South Dakota. We welcome anyone who knew Chris from past or present, to come by to share stories and good memories. Anyone wishing to pay their respects to the family is welcome to join them at the celebration of life.
