Obituary For Clemmie Herrington
Clemmie Virginia Davis Herrington at 100 years of age was swallowed up in life on March 20, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in New Underwood, South Dakota. Clemmie was born February 14, 1912, to William H. and Etta Davis in Waterman, Texas. She lived in Houston, Texas, through most of her youth. She married George Herrington on May 27, 1948, and lived on a ranch on Spring Creek near Hermosa, South Dakota, for over 54 years. She was a member of Southern Baptist churches in Rapid City where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school until she was in her 80’s. She loved reading her Bible, eating Cheetos and Pepsi, enjoyed pretty clothes and enlivened every situation with conversation. She is survived by her sons and their wives, George and Fay Herrington, and Gary and Karen Herrington of Hermosa, South Dakota; and her daughter, Susan Bouchier of Algonquin, Illinois; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband George E. Herrington, her son Albert Zorn, her sisters Beatrice Knowlton and Sally Davis and her brother Gliden Davis.
