Obituary For Colton Shay Stranger Horse
Colton Shay Stranger Horse passed away February 27th, 2015 from a tragic accident. He was 22 years old. Colton was born on November 17th, 1992 to Dania Stranger Horse in Yankton, SD. Colton was raised for the first five years of his life in White River, SD. While living there he grew up with his uncles, aunts, and numerous cousins that all adored him. He was loved by all, but the love of his Grandma Burley, he would remember the most. After moving to Rapid City, Colton’s journey thru life began. He attended school at YFS Head Start, General Beadle, North Middle, and would graduate from Jefferson in 2013. Being a boy, Colton ventured all over Rapid City. He loved being outside, riding his bike, looking for snakes, or just playing ball. It was just by chance that he wandered into the Boy’s Club, there he found his 2nd home. Colton’s carefree easy going attitude earned him a great many friends along the way. These friends are the ones that he would later call his brother’s. Colton’s love of cars was one of his greatest passions in life. His second love was for pitbulls, this led him to not only own one but two of them. Midnight and Artemis were his babies. There is not a single thing he wouldn’t do for his dogs. Those two were his life. Colton’s love of life was what made him so unique. The love he had for his family and friends was endless. Colton always had a way of leaving a lasting impression on every single person that he crossed paths with. His smile, his laughter, and his jokes made it easy to like him. It was everything about him that made us all fall in love with him over and over. His passing has left us all in disbelief. His absence is and will forever be felt by all. The pain of never hearing his laughter, or seeing his goofy smile, will be felt by all of us. But the heartache and the loneliness that we will all have is the thought of realizing that we have to live on without him. He left us way too soon. Although Colton’s life was way to brief, he left everyone he ever met in his life with the memories of love, laughter and his carefree attitude to live his life to the fullest without any sort of regret. Colton loved adventure he would dive right in and never look back. Remember our son and brother with the love and happiness that he brought into all of our lives. Colton is survived by his mother, Dania Stranger Horse; his father, David Cole; his two sisters (whom he loved and adored so much) Joely and Julia Cole. His maternal grandmother Arlene Andrews, White River, SD and his other Grandmothers: Gina Burnette, Mission, SD and Debra Ann Dillon, Rapid City, SD. His paternal Grandmother Kathy Cole, Rapid City, SD. His Aunties: Dawn, Sheila, Angie, and Shelly and His Uncles: William, Michael, and Doug. His brothers: Thor, Courtney, Chris, Mato, Noah, and Eli. He is also survived by numerous other family members. He is preceded in death by his Maternal Great Grandparents Ignatius and Arlene Stranger Horse.
