Obituary For Dale Robert Bishop

Dale Robert Bishop, 62, Rapid City, died Thursday, November 21, 2019 at home. He was born July 19, 1957 in Glendive, Montana to Don and Lorraine (Aspenlieder) Bishop. He entered the U.S. Army December 12, 1975 and was honorably discharged December 11, 1978. Dale married Donita Graham in July 1977 and they had a son, Steven Bishop. They separated in 1979. He married Nancy Meyer April 8, 1989. Dale was known as the ‘Yellow Bike Man’, as he started the Yellow Bike Program and Reconditioned Bikes for Kids, Inc. He made hundreds of children and parents happy with the bikes he gave out. He is survived by his wife Nancy; his son Steven (Joye) Bishop, Bend, OR; Larry Bishop, Glendive, MT; Elaine (Robert) Bishop-Harrison, Kenai, AK; Linda (Ron) Rykowski, Billings, MT; Carolyn Stout, Hill City; Bryce Bishop, Algona, IA; Janit Bishop, Kalispell, MT; Sharon Bishop, Glendive, MT; Tom (Lisa) Bishop, Anchorage, AK; Cheryle Bishop, Glendive, MT; Randy Bishop, Bismarck, ND; Kathie (Shawn) Parent, Glendive, MT; Warren (Kim) Smeltzer; Larry (Jane) Meyer, Fairfield, MT; Steve (Sandy) Meyer, Watford City, ND and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Lorraine Bishop, sister Sandra Smeltzer, brother Allen Bishop, In-laws Fred and Bernice Meyer, brother-in-law Michael Meyer, brother-in-law Gary Brilz, brother-in-law Jeff Cozzens, and brother-in-law- Ray Taylor.
