Obituary For Dennis K. Stuard

Dennis Keith Stuard, age 65 of Hill City, SD passed away on February 16, 2023, at Monument Hospital, Rapid City, SD.

Dennis was born in Bitburg, Germany on September 28, 1957. Dennis loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, shooting, gold mining and an avid “rock hound”. Dennis was good at anything he decided to do often building his own equipment for hobbies he liked. An exceptional reloader Dennis would spend evening hours reloading various calibers for a day’s outing shooting. Dennis enjoyed all outdoor activities, but mining and rock hunting were his passion. Dennis pridefully displayed some of his more remarkable finds and enjoyed talking about his experience when finding them.

Dennis is survived by his brothers Charles & Mary Stuard, Gary & Anna Stuard, Brian & Kelly Stuard, Doug & Yvette Stuard and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Dennis loved children and had a patience with them when enjoying his outdoor hobbies. Please consider donating to a charity benefiting children.

Remembering our super long distance phone conversations when I would have a Bon-Fire going and you would tell me your stories of finding gold, hunting, fishing, shooting prairie dogs so livestock wouldn't break their legs. You told me about Marmots, which I had never heard of. You taught me about so many "outdoor" things that I was not aware of. More than once I fell asleep when the clock went past 2:00am. Every time we spoke you had an amazing new story to tell. When I finally had the opportunity to visit you, I had such a great time 4 wheeling up in the mountains and hills. I didn't want it to end. I will miss our long conversations. Rest in Peace My Brother and save a seat for me when that time comes. Love Forever, Doug, Yvette, James, Kyle, Lauren Stuard - Posted by Doug Stuard on February 18, 2023

With loving fond memories of my Brudder in-law Dennis: It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you the day God took you home. If tears could build a stairway, and heartaches make a lane, We'd walk our way to heaven and bring you back again. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still, In our hearts you hold a place no one could ever fill. His love for our family will always remain in our hearts. - Posted by Mrs. Yvette Stuard on March 3, 2023
