Obituary For Earl Thurman Green II

Earl T. (Butch) Green II, 76, died Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Charlotte and Earl Green on April 20, 1945. Earl was stationed in Guam while he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. While he was stationed at Ellsworth AFB, he met Susan Getty, who would become his wife of 52 years. Together they raised four children. After getting out of the USAF at the rank of Staff Sergeant, he worked as an electrician for many years, some of them in Alaska for Parker Drilling. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, whittling, knifemaking, and in his later years, spending time with his family, especially his nine grandchildren. Earl is survived by his wife, Susan of Rapid City, his oldest son, Patrick Green and his wife of Great Falls, MT, his oldest daughter, Christine Kuehl of Springfield, MA and her husband and four children, a daughter Elizabeth James of Martinsburg, WV and her husband and four children, and a son, Michael Green of Barnesville, MN and his wife and four children. He is also survived by two brothers, David Green of Oklahoma and Jim Green of California and a nephew, Dean Dancer of Oklahoma. Earl’s family would like to thank the staff at Fort Meade VA Medical center for their excellent care of him through his many visits over the years.
