Obituary For Eileen Helen Cadarr
Eileen Helen Cadarr has left her earthly life behind for the promise of eternal life with our Lord. Eileen was born December 13, 1958 in Rockville Centre, New York to Alan and Joan Braun. Her family moved to Bay City Michigan in 1967 and then to Creston, Iowa in 1972. Eileen graduated from Creston High School in 1976. She was married to Terry Schieffer and gave life to their 3 children Catherine, Nicholas, and Joseph. Eileen hosted child care from her home in Indianola, Iowa as her children were growing up. She attended Des Moines Area Community College to do her Paralegal Studies, graduating in 1995.
When her children were grown, Eileen moved to Rapid City, South Dakota and worked for Dakota Plains Legal Services. Eileen enjoyed camping, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and attending group formation opportunities at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral.
Eileen is survived by her children Katie (Todd) Edsall of Olathe, Kansas, Nicholas (Nikole) Schieffer of Ames, Iowa and Joseph (Amanda) Schieffer of Parker, Colorado and Grandchildren, Delaney, Cormac, and Declan Edsall, Tillman Schieffer, and Lewis, Ivy, Fiona, and Henry Schieffer. Also surviving her are her siblings Patricia (Hank) Mazzucca of Naples, Florida, Kathy (John) Kooiker of Osceola, Iowa, Susan Turner of Prescott, Arizona, Tom (Kim) Braun of Jefferson, Iowa, Steve Braun of Leawood, Kansas, Mary (Kip) Coates of Rapid City, South Dakota, Noreen Thoms of Waterloo, Iowa, and Kevin Braun of Kansas City, Kansas. Eileen was preceded in death by her Mother, Joan E. Cadarr-Braun and brother Jimmy Braun. She will be interred with them at Calvary Cemetery in Creston, Iowa on Saturday, April 5th.
Wake services will be held at Behrens Wilson Funeral Home in Rapid City, South Dakota on Wednesday, April 2nd with a viewing from 5-7 p.m. and Vigil at 7:00 followed by 8:00 p.m. Adoration at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Thursday, April 3rd at 11:00 a.m.
Funeral Services will be followed by a meal. Eileen’s family extends their abundant gratitude to Eileen's friends who have supported her in SO many ways during this prolonged illness. They have been a source of great blessing in assisting Eileen with prayers, drives to appointments, hospital stays in Sioux Falls, and loving support spiritually, emotionally and physically. Thank you for being God's hands and feet on this journey.
