Obituary For Elaine C. Twiss

We are sad to announce the passing of Elaine C. Twiss, 80, of Rapid City, SD. Elaine passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Elaine was born in Minneapolis, MN to Richard and Nancy Barry (Chavez). She married Frank Vigil in Rapid City in 1964 and later married Raymond Twiss in 1984. She worked at Sanmina/SCI as a Production Operator for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, shopping, an occasional beer, shot of tequila, and her homemade apple pie specialty drink.

To know Elaine is to love her. She was a devoted mother to her children and pets. She was beautiful, funny, witty, and quick with a joke. Her laugh was infectious, and she was always fun to be around.

Elaine is survived by her children, Frank Vigil of Rapid City, Angela Ivie (Terry) of Pocatello ID, Nancy Vigil (Mike) Piedmont SD, Raymond Twiss Jr. (Nicole) Rapid City, and Grandson Frankie ‘Poncho’ Vigil (Jaymie), who she raised, Rapid City; Grandchildren Mariah, Vivian, Breanne, Brittney, Mason, Donovan, and Samantha; Brothers Jerry, Vernon, Duane, and Michael; Sisters Darlene, Marilyn, Sherrie, and Karess; Numerous Great Grand Children and Great, Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Nancy, her Husbands, her sons DeMarco and Richard, Sister Thelma, and brother Donald.

She is requesting no services, but there will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., at The Eagles Club at 1410 Centre St, Rapid City.

The family of Elaine wishes to extend our sincere thank you to Dr. Katherine Croft and Nurse Melody, and the Monument Hospice Team.
