Obituary For Elener Margaret Nelson
Elener Margaret Nelson (Gardiner), was born on June 27, 1916 in Mercer, ND. She was currently living in Washington (St. George), Utah, and passed away on the 29th of November 2019. She was 103 at the time of her death. She was married to Leo J. Nelson who passed away on March 5, 1994. She had two brothers George and Willis, and three sisters, Josephine, Annetta, and Anna Marie. She had 5 children: Shirley Smith (Michael), Larry Nelson(Ruth), Nola Zimney, Verna Shelton (Thomas), and Betty Primm (Jay), 9 grandchildren: Shawn Wicks, Jay Langerman, Jesse Nelson, Jason Primm, Ashley Primm, Lilian Bell (David), Michael Smith, Richard Smith(Karin), and Kevin Smith, (Debbie), 6 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She lived her life in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Utah. In Rapid City Elener was involved in her church, Trinity Lutheran and Women of the Moose until going to live with her daughter in Utah. In Utah she volunteered at the St. George Senior Center until July of 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, daughter Nola, grandchild Shawn, brothers George and Willis, sisters Josephine and Anna Marie.
