Obituary For George W. Egge, Jr.
George W Egge Jr 4/2/38-8/8/24 passed on Thursday to join his wife Nancy and son Dean in heaven.
George Jr was the son of Wyoming homesteader George Sr and Lois Egge, born in Douglas Wyoming and grew up in Newcastle. As a young man he was gifted in so many areas including track, basketball, hunting and fishing. He had a decorated Air Force career and was a devoted husband and father. One of his greatest joys was being involved with whatever activity his children were in, namely scouts and sports. His children fondly remember long summers spent camping in the Black Hills. Always a hard worker, he retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 20 years and spent the next part of his career as a custodian for Rapid City Schools.
He is survived by his children Daniel Q Egge USMC (ret), David W Egge USN (ret), S. Douglas Egge MD USA veteran and Debra A Winder USAF veteran as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
