Gerald “Jerry” Duane Simkins, lifelong hunter, fisherman and devoted father, passed away peacefully February 20, 2022 after a long illness with cancer. His beloved wife of 15 years, Judy, was at his side. Jerry was born December 23, 1941 in Winner, SD to Elmer & Evelyn Simkins. Over the years, Jerry lived in several South Dakota towns before settling in Larchwood, IA during the summers and sunny Yuma, AZ in the winters. Gerald is survived by his wife Judy, a sister Patricia “Pat” Kirk, two sons Russell (Sandi) and Randy (Paula) Simkins and several grandchildren & great grandchildren. Jerry fulfilled his life with his sons hunting and fishing after retiring from Brick and Masonry work. Jerry was preceded in death by his father Elmer and his mother Evelyn, along with numerous aunts and uncles. Jerry now fishes the beautiful waters of Heaven and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
