Obituary For Gerry Anton Bachmeier

Gerry Anton Bachmeier, 62, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Hospice House in Rapid City surrounded by his siblings.

Gerry was born in Minot, North Dakota on August 12, 1955 to Anton and Magdalena (Ziegler) Bachmeier. He grew up and attended school in Burlington, ND. He was once married to Barb Elm and from this union, a daughter Heather was born, whom he cherished very dearly. Gerry and his family moved to Seattle, Washington for a brief time and then moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where he resided until his death.

Gerry was a construction worker most of his life. He worked for Zandra Construction for seventeen years as a truck driver. His pride and joy was his truck #903 which he took excellent care of.

His greatest pleasure was to go fishing. When he was a young boy, he went with the family on summer vacation fishing trips to Canada. He really enjoyed his fishing excursions with his father and big brother, Bob.

Gerry is survived by his daughter, Heather (David) Ranallo and grandson Connor, Old Forge, PA. His brother, Bob (Paula) Bachmeier, Burlington, ND. His sisters, Linda (Doug) Fletcher, Rapid City, SD, Gerilyn Erb, Minot, ND, Colleen (Kevin) Sigety, Winder, GA, Carolyn Slattery, Gillette, WY, and Josie (Marty) LeBrun, Adrian, MN. He has several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
