Obituary For Janice Yvonne Kosters

Janice Yvonne (Helm) Kosters, 85, of Rapid City, SD passed away on December 10, 2021 in Rapid City, SD. Janice was born in rural Walworth County to Arthur and Frieda Helm on August 20, 1936. She attended Northern State College and obtained a Teaching Certificate. In the spring and summer of 1955, she worked at Pressler Clothing before teaching school in Campbell County for the 1955-1956 school year. Janice married Morris Kosters on August 4, 1956, and they resided in Selby, SD until Morris’ job took them to various locations in South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, and North Dakota. To this union four children were born: Franklin, Curtis, Kelly and Mary. Janice enjoyed baking, cooking, applique crafts, sewing, crocheting, gardening, quilting, corresponding with friends and spending time with family. Janice was preceded in death by her parents and sister Ruby. She is survived by her husband Morris Kosters, sons Frank and Curt Kosters, daughters Kelly (Bob) Bickett and Mary Stern; Grandchildren; Frank Jr. and Steve Kosters; Brandon (Amalia Cantisan), Christopher, Juliana, and Sean Kosters; Dan and Tom (Talia) Bickett; Annie (Dan) Shrock, Robert (Karmin) Stern, and Michael Stern; Great-grandchildren; Rachel, Gabriel, Sarah and Michael Kosters; Damien and Dalia Kosters; Philip and Finley Bickett; Ben and Caleb Shrock; and Isaiah Stern; Siblings Dwight (Yvonne) Helm, Les (Audrey) Helm; and numerous nieces and nephews.
