Obituary For Jeanie Marie Jorgensen

Jean Marie Jorgensen, age 60 passed away Tuesday February 18th 2020 in her home in Rapid City South Dakota. Jean was born April 2, 1959 in New Underwood South Dakota and grew up in Rapid City where she attended Central High School. She was a free spirit and spent her life on the go. She traveled and experienced so much in her 60 years and made countless friends along the way. She was an avid reader of the bible, loved as was very close to her Lord and savior, and instilled her same principles to her children and taught them to live by the golden rule to treat others how you want to be treated. Jean was an incredibly smart woman and did everything in her power to never miss an episode of Jeopardy! She would get almost all the answers right every time and was always told she should go on the show but she never did, she enjoyed watching it on t.v. and had no desire to be on the show even though she knew she could win! As she got older and started to settle down a bit, she picked up the awesome hobby of crocheting and knitting! She would crochet her heart out every chance she would get. That was her escape from the world and brought her so much comfort. She was preceded in death by adopted mother and father Gordon and Betty Jean Jorgensen, birth parents Loehl Crew and Josephine Charging Eagle; Brothers Richard, Steven, and Leo; sisters Geradline and Terrie Beth; nephew James; son Daniel and granddaughter Daniela. Jean is survived by her brothers Leonard and Francis (Smokey) Byington both or Lower Brule SD; Sisters Laura Mae (Minnesota), Lillian Galloway (Illinois) Kip (Ida Pearl) Jorgensen (Rapid City, SD); her sons Matthew (grandchildren Madison, Myricle, Michelle, and Matthew Jr) of Rapid City, Aaron (grandchildren Jayme, and Logan) of Rapid City and Brian Niedan (grandchildren Brian Jr, Annabel, Todd and Cody); daughter Dominique (grandchildren Jelena, Jazlyn and Daniela) of Phoenix AZ. and a very large extended family and bonus children who referred to her as “Mom”, all of which loved and cared for her deeply.
