Obituary For Jimmy Graham
Jimmy Graham, 76, Rapid City went home to be with his loving wife Shirley on Sunday April 27, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born in Clinton, TN on July 22, 1931, to Monzel and Maggie (Bowers) Glidewell of Michie, TN. Jimmy was one of seven children. As a child he grew up in Michie, TN where he attended school and at the age of 17 he joined the US Army, serving three years and then joined the US Air Force. After serving his country, he retired in Rapid City. He worked for Boeing Corp as a security guard; Mayflower Moving Co.; Pacific Fruit and Rapid City Regional Hospital as a maintenance man. He retired in 1984 and was a stay at home dad. He married the love of his life Shirley Mae McDonald on November 15, 1958. To this union they had six children. He lost his wife in 1984. He is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Kremer, Everett, WA; Patty Graham; Vickie and husband Steve Lewis, all of Rapid City; three sons, James Graham; Ed and wife Sue Graham, all of Rapid City; Bill and wife Linda Wilkie, Box Elder; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Baker, Michie, TN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his parents, Monzel “Bunt” and Maggie; five sisters, Betty Sue Willis, Tupelo, MS; Frances Killingsworth, Michie, TN; Martha Briggs, Ocklawaha, FL; Dawn Kitty, Sanford, FL and Betsy Kate Gladewell, Michie, TN.
