Obituary For Joyce Ann Saenz

Joyce Ann Saenz, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on February 28th, 2025, at Monument Hospital in Rapid City, SD, at the age of 75. Born on September 10th, 1949, to Robert and Harriet (Dugdale) Klinetobe, Joyce spent her life building a legacy of love, friendship, and community involvement. She met her loving husband, Rueben Saenz, in Rapid City, SD, and together they raised two children. Joyce's diverse career spanned several industries, including healthcare, jewelry production and hospitality, with notable positions at Beverly Health Care, Landstrom Jewelry, and Monument Hospital, where she retired from environmental services after 15 dedicated years. Joyce cherished time spent with family, particularly her granddaughters, and enjoyed many trips to Deadwood. As an active member of the Moose Lodge and Women of the Moose in Rapid City, she volunteered and played Bingo regularly. She was awarded many certificates, including multiple volunteer of the month and Chapter member of the year. Joyce made so many lasting friendships along the way. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Harriet Klinetobe and sister Shirley Bearce. She is survived by her loving husband, Rueben Saenz; daughter, Lisa (Jeremy) Hurd; and son, Paul (Linsy) Saenz. Her 5 grandkids; Aaron Surratt, Cody Surratt, Aubree Saenz, Autumn Saenz and Breanna Hurd. Her sisters Cathy (Mike) Atchley, Diane (Shelby) Burrus, Becky (Rick) Grueschow, brothers Bob Klinetobe, Rick (Ann) Klinetobe and Danny (late JoAnn) Klinetobe. A celebration of her life will be held at the Moose lodge, Rapid City, SD on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 from 1-3pm.

    Joyce and I had some fun times together as teenagers and I was fortunate to spend more time with her a couple of years ago. My deepest condolences to Rueben and your children. Also, condolences to Kathy and the rest of her family. It's so sad to lose someone you love. Remember all the good moments you shared with Joyce.
