Obituary For Judith Alta Bracken
Judith Alta 'Judy' Bracken, 79, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side in Rapid City, SD, following a short illness. Judy was born in Spearfish, SD, on March 10, 1940, to Levi L. and Patricia A. Petersen (Gage).
Judy was a one-of-a-kind gal who was dearly loved by all who knew her, if only as an acquaintance. Her spunk, work ethic, positive outlook, and warm smile were her trademarks. She was also known by her close family and friends to be willful, decisive, and orderly... all good Petersen traits. Judy was never late for anything in her life, a testament that she always put others first.
Judy is survived by son Scott J. (Fiona) Bracken, daughter Darcy L. (John) Bracken, 5 grandchildren, Hailee (Wayne) Hobson, Candice (Troy) Wilson, Kelsey (Jamie) Hoff, Jenna Bracken, and Paige Wilson, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers Tom (Jean) Petersen and Jim (Mona) Petersen, and sister Lee Ann (Mike) Baumgartner.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, sons Mark and Kent, parents Levi and Patty, brother Robert, and grandson Cody.
