Second marriage was to Erik George Hanson from Feburary 1998 to October 2006 in Rapid City S.D.

She worked as a Pawn Broker for First National Pawn for over 20 years. She loved her job and had a great following of customers. She considered many of her co-workers and customers more than just co-workers & customers, but viewed them as "second family."
Karol had a special knack for picking up "lost souls" opening up her frig. and her no-nonsense, tough love advise to many who have since based their "family," "work" or lifestyle by. She was a grounding rock to many in their "forming" years.
Karol Hanson is survived by her Daughter Alpheia E Vopat, Grandson Faeden D. Vopat, and Grandaughter Aria Vopat. Brothers Floyd and Kevin Strouse. Sisters Gigi and Dale Duciaume (Strouse), Carmen Strouse, Janalle Strouse, and Tina & Dave Lemer (Greeman). Many nieces and nephews, and her special friend Ron Butts.
