Karri Schumacher, 68, of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2021 surrounded by her family at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, South Dakota. Karri was born on January 25th, 1953 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Marvin & Dolores Schumacher and was one of six children. As a young adult she went on to receive her Child Development Associate Credential and worked as a bus driver for multiple years. Karri also worked at Colman-Frizzell and took great pride making jewelry during this job. Karri enjoyed traveling around the United States with her best friend; she loved being outdoors and in her recent years could be found tending to her plants or walking her dog, Brutus. Karri loved all animals and took great care of her pets. One of her favorite things to do was to watch new movies and she especially loved musicals with one of her favorites being The Wizard of Oz. Karri was known for being independent often bragging of her mechanical abilities, but most importantly she took great pride in her kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Karri was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores; father Marvin, and niece Tonya. Karri is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Gregg), son Scott (Stephanie), her grandsons, Nathan (Brittney), Michael (Brittani), Dyllan (Tera), and Matthew (Madison), her granddaughters, Karisa (Andrew), Madison, her great grandchildren, Donovan, Gabriel, Jackson, Baylee, Holleigh, Charlee, Brooklynn, Wyatt, Caleb, Mckinsey, Jaron. Her siblings, Nick, Mardee (Al), Terry (Kim), Tracey (Teressa), and Kelli (John).
