Obituary For Kathleen \'Kathie\' Diane Jarman

Kathleen ‘Kathie’ Diane Jarman, passed away July 14, 2020 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was 75. Kathleen Diane Folden was born June 19, 1945 to Margery (Looney) and William Folden in Tacoma, Washington. After moving from Washington, Kathie grew up in Long Beach, California. It was here that Kathie met a young US Navy man, by the name of James ‘Jimmy’ Cole. Kathie and Jimmy were married on October 4, 1963. To this union, their sons Doug, David and daughter Shellie were born. Kathie and family remained in California through Jimmy’s service with the US Navy. After the end of his tour, the family moved to South Dakota. It was here Kathie and Jimmy raised their young family. Kathie worked many jobs in and around the Rapid City area, but none as memorable as the Ramkota. Kathie worked there for 10 years as a Housekeeper. She made many friends and left a lasting impression on every person she met. After retiring, Kathie would spend her time doing ceramics, fill-in crosswords and puzzles. At any given time, you could find her doing a puzzle at her kitchen table. She said, “if a puzzle ain’t 1500 pieces, it ain’t a challenge”. Even as her health began to fail, it was that spit-fire attitude and the love for her family that helped her fight the good fight. Kathie was a good woman, a great mom and a loving grandma. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by two sons, Doug Cole and David (Dania) Cole; her daughter Shellie Maki; her grandchildren, Jessie, Misty and Johnny Maki, Shawn, Joely and Julia Cole; her great grandchildren, Mathew, Nathan, Athena, Alex, Braden and Christian; her sister Nancy Brant, California; her brothers Larry and John Folden, Washington. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Margery Folden, sister Bobbi Bloomer, brothers Dick, Gary and Don Folden, her husband James “Jimmy” Cole and her grandson Colton Stranger Horse Cole.
