Obituary For Kenneth A. Bauer
Kenneth Allen Bauer, 71, a long-time resident of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away in August 2023, in Rapid City.
Ken was born in Rapid City to James A. and Phyllis M. Bauer on April 28, 1952. He graduated from Stevens High School in 1970. He enlisted in the US Navy in June of 1970, and served for 6 years. He was a Petty Officer Second Class and served as electronics technician in his military and civilian life. Ken was a veteran of the Viet Nam War and was awarded the Good Conduct Award and was issued a Viet Nam Service Medal. An avid horseshoe pitcher, he also enjoyed bowling and playing pool.
Ken is survived by 3 brothers: Art (Lyn) Bauer of North Sioux City, SD; Robert (Kay) Bauer of Belton, MO; Duane (Marsha) Bauer of Oak Harbor, WA; one sister, Annette (Harvey) Hansen of Smithville, TX.; 4 nephews, 4 nieces and 11 grand-nephews and grand-nieces. He is also survived by his good friends: Larry and Rhonda Frey, Tom Frey, Travis and Karlyn Frey, and Kelly Gustafson. Ken was proceeded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Keith Bauer and Michael Bauer.
