Obituary For Lee Etta Willier
Lee Etta Willier, age 89 of Rapid City, SD passed away February 17, 2024, in Rapid City, SD. She was born in Hereford, TX to William Ira Morton and Stella Etta (Guthrie) Morton on June 15, 1934. She grew up and graduated from high school in Hereford, TX. She married Jack L. Willier on December 23, 1951, in Hereford, TX.
She was a homemaker and raised four children while living in Black Hawk, SD where she participated in the: PTA, Ladies Auxiliary, the Black Hawk Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, and the Coffee Club. She loved bowling and traveled to many tournaments. Many times, she spent with lifelong friends that were always there to help and support each other through the years. Once the kids were raised, she and Jack moved back to Hereford, TX where she was a business owner of the Snooty Pig Ceramic Shop.
She and Jack divorced in 1989. She moved to Midland, TX and attended Midland College, while earning a business certification and opened Basin Attorney Services, which she ran for several years. She then traveled to Tallahassee, FL and cared for Kay, her younger sister. She treasured the time spent with Kay and Gordon. She then moved to Abilene, TX to be near her father, Bill and her sister, Bettye. Several years later she moved back to South Dakota to be near family and dear friends.
She became a resident of West Park, where she resided for over 20 years. While at West Park she: organized several activities including: election polling, the Haunted House, and assisted many of the residents with travel to appointments and events. She was honored with a plaque for her volunteer work with the RSVP Program.
She is survived by her four children: Twyla (Terry) Clutter of Midland, TX, Brad (Jackie) Willier of Wheatland, WY, Brent Willier of Tulia, TX, Barry (Kathy) Willier of Rapid City, SD. Numerous nieces, and nephews. Grandchildren: Eric (Brandy) Clutter, Tanya (Scott) Turner, Tyler (Ashley) Clutter, Melissa (Swade) Prewitt, Tasha (Steven) Lambert, Brandy (Brett) Hall, Kevin Willier, Blain (Danielle) Willier, Brett (Cheryl) Willier, Jason Castallano, Jenna Castallano and, Jordan Castallano. Seventeen great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren and special friends, Glennies Smith and family, as well as her neighbors at West Park.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday; February 23, 2024, at Behrens Wilson Funeral Home located at 632 Saint Francis Street, Rapid City SD 57701.
Funeral services will be held on Friday; February 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Behrens Wilson Funeral Home located at 632 Saint Francis Street, Rapid City SD 57701.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Monument Health 6th floor doctors and nursing staff for the care and compassion they gave to our mother.
