Obituary For Linda J. Downing
Linda was born August 8, 1944 to Raymond and Esther Betz. They resided in Wichita Falls TX until March 12, 1945 when her father was killed in action in World War ll. Linda was 7 months old. Her mother later married Harry Wacker who adopted Linda. She had one sister, Peggy who preceded her in death and one brother who currently lives in Colorado with his family. The Wacker family lived in Scottsbluff, Nebraska where Linda graduated from High School and attended beauty school until she became a Navy wife and moved around the country, settling in Gillette, Wyoming as their final home. Linda and ex-husband Gene had three children, Glenn, Tracy, and Stephanie. Linda found a career as a Gillette public school bus driver, retiring after transporting hundreds of children safely and lovingly on their daily routes to schools and field trips. Her passion was learning about and being in nature. She loved the plants, flowers and creatures of the paths she would walk as well as the many birds and pets she cared for during her life. Linda left to be with her Lord on June 4th, 2024. If you have memories of Linda, please feel free to post. We would love to hear them.
