Lloyd V. Allen Jr., 67, died on November 25th, 2017 in his home located in Box Elder, SD. Lloyd, better known as “Grumpy”, began life in Mt. Clemmons, Michigan as the first-born Son to Doris Allen-Ballinger and Lloyd V. Allen Senior on October 9th, 1950. Lloyd was the eldest child in his family; he cared for his sister Bonita and his two brothers, Darrel and Eric. He was relocated to Ellsworth Air Force base in 1974, where Lloyd met the love of his life, Lorena Hays, and the couple married in January of 1977. A little less than a year later the couple welcomed their only child, Shannon, on November 12th, 1978. Lloyd enjoyed a wide range of interests throughout his life, after retiring from the Air Force; he worked as a volunteer police officer in Box Elder as well as cooking for the Flying J truck stop for many years. Lloyd was a CB radio enthusiast during the 1990’s and developed many friendships with fellow CB lovers at this time. He became a quiet man in his later years, turning to his family and selected friends for fellowship or company. Lloyd V. Allen Jr., was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd V.
