Obituary For Lucille Gene Dye

Lucille Gene Dye, 87, died on March 12, 2025, at Avantara Arrowhead in Rapid City, SD.

Lucille accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at age 14 when Bill Bright from Campus Crusade for Christ came to her high school in Blythe, California to share the Gospel. Lucille went on to serve her Savior faithfully for 73 years. She led bible studies in the Old Testament and the New Testament for 50 years and helped many find their way into God’s Kingdom through His son Jesus Christ.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 61 ½ years. She longed to go home to be with him and her Lord, and did not fear death. She is survived by 2 daughters, Colleen (Bill) Robinson, Seeley Lake, MT, Sharon (Jim) Hanson, Rapid City, SD, and 1 son, James (Judy) Warner, Oakland, WA. Lucille and her husband had 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Lucille’s family and friends celebrate her life and the fact that she has the assurance of eternal life with Jesus Christ because of what He accomplished on the cross of Calvary. The end of her life here on this Earth marked the dawn of a wonderful new life in the presence of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Lucille and her late husband, Jim, were long time active members of Rimrock Evangelical Free Church. Lucille received her nursing degree in 1971 and retired in 1991. They moved to St. Martin’s Village in June of 2013 where Jim died in July of 2015.

Lucille will be buried at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD, where Jim is buried.
