Obituary For Maggie Ann Klassy

Maggie Ann (Fager) Klassy, of Rapid City, passed away on January 14, 2020, at Rapid City Regional Hospice House. Maggie was born at Pratt, Kansas, on June 28, 1932, to Joe and Josephine (Thompson) Fager. She graduated from Pratt High School in 1950. Maggie married D. Ray Klassy in October of 1953 at Hutchinson, Kansas, and became a Navy wife and a homemaker. Together they had four children and spent many years moving to different locations across the United States, from Texas to Midway Island to Minnesota. After Ray retired in 1981 they settled in Rapid City. Maggie was a gifted pianist and played piano in many of the churches she attended along the way. In Rapid City she became deeply involved with the First Church of God as the pianist and in the Church Women Connection as well as serving on the Church Board. Maggie was a friend to everyone she met. She loved to talk and make people feel at home. She had a kind heart and gave of her time to those who were struggling with life\'s heartaches. Maggie is survived by husband, D. Ray Klassy; son Darwin (Diana); daughters Cindy (Bill) Paxson, Marla (Marty) Riedling, and Belinda (Doug) Sheely; brother Ted Fager; sister Ellen Fager Mathias; twelve grandchildren, David, Denise, Hannah, Andy, Billee, Matthew, Mark, Sarah, Sierra, Megan, Tiffany and Kyle; and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Opal Fager, and brothers Paul, Mel, Vearl, and Russell Fager. Memorial contributions in her name may be given to First Church of God in Rapid City. The family of Maggie Klassy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the devoted, caring staff of: Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City Regional Hospice House, and Behrens Wilson Funeral Home.
