Obituary For Marshall John Mayry

Marshall John Mayry passed away February 14, 2018 at home in Rapid City, SD. He was born to John and Ruth (Maki) Mayry in Chisholm, MN on April 7, 1941. He graduated from Chisholm MN high school, attended Hibbing Community College and graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He served in the US Army, stationed in Washington.

He married Karen Anderson on July 12, 1966 in Hibbing MN. She was the love of his life and were married for 40 years. They traveled many miles together on behalf of the South Dakota Affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind and other charities that they supported.

Marshall was employed by New York Life Insurance as their office manager.

Marshall was a kind, caring, compassionate man. He was the devoted caretaker for his bride through her many years of health issues. He also helped many other friends in the community over the course of his life.

Marshall was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, in 2006. His parents,John and Ruth Mayry, also preceded him.

He is survived by his brother, Mark (Charlene) Mayry of New Richmond WI, his sister, Mardell Lackner of Chisholm MN and his brother-in-law, David Anderson (Barbara) of Sheboygan WI. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Madelyn Myers, David Mayry, Gail Wagner, Steve Katona, Alicia Lamb, Mike Olson, Peter Anderson and Paul Anderson as well as other relatives and friends.
