Obituary For Melba Grace Jones

Melba Jones, 101, of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away on April 8, 2018.

She was born on February 21, 1917, to Adelbert and Faye Relf in Egan, SD where she grew up and graduated from high school. She married Ed Jones on April 27, 1936 in Flandreau, SD. In 1946, they moved to Colman, SD and lived in various places including Geddes, Pickstown and Lake Andes. In 1971, they moved to Platte, SD where they operated the Bowling Alley Café and Melba worked at the Platte Nursing Home for 19 years until retirement.

Melba lived at Prairie Hills Nursing Home in Rapid City since 2007. She was a member of the Untied Methodist Church in Geddes, SD. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and going bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, daughter, brother, sister, and 2 sons-in-law.

Grateful for having shared her life include her 3 daughters, Darleen (Glenn) Woldt, Kathy Srstka and Sandy (Ronny) Veil all of Rapid City, nine grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 2 step grandchildren.
