Obituary For Michael Val Harold Eggert
Michael V.H. Eggert, 55, Rapid City, died Sunday, July 14, 2019 at home. Michael was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on December 17, 1963 to William and Beverly Eggert. Michael traveled quite extensively as a child since his father was in the Air Force. He lived in Cedar Rapids, IA, Bitburg AFB, Germany, Rapid City, SD, Aviano AFB, Italy, and back to Rapid City. He graduated from Rapid City Central High School and Western Dakota Vo-Tech. Michael worked a variety of jobs most notably for the Douglas School District and Elks Lodge #1187. Michael loved camping, hunting, Custer State Park and Wind Cave. He also loved the cabin at Rochford. Mike had the biggest heart, rough around the edges but the biggest heart. Michael is survived by his sister Sandy (Bill) Glover of Deadwood, SD, brother Loren (Mary) Eggert of Rochford SD and sister-in-law Stacey Eggert of Cold Spring, MN. He is also survived by one niece, three nephews, and a grandnephew. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, his uncle, his father, his mother and his two brothers, David and Jake.
