Obituary For Moriah N Kyyitan

The world became brighter on June 8, 1987, the day that Moriah N. Kyyitan was born. With his wife by his side, sadly Moriah passed away peacefully at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD, on October 1, 2022.

Moriah ‘Moses’ was born at Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. In his testimonies, he shared how much he learned from his parents, family, friends, leaders and teachers and how that helped him walk through the trials and tribulations in his own life. Moses’ upbringing was strong through struggles and amazing blessings. He graduated from high school in Winslow AZ, and shortly after that , moved to Rapid City, SD around 2009. Moses made another family and blessed us with his talents and beautiful witty sense of humor. He chose mess sergeant at various places as a cook. Changing careers , Moses worked construction. He loved to work with concrete and helped build in and around Rapid City. Moriah’s phone calls and messages will be missed by many, as he always made sure to keep in contact with his family and friends across the miles. One of Moriah’s talents was drawing. His art amazed a lot of people and he was requested to do tattoos.

Moriah will never be forgotten and will always be loved. His memory will live on in our hearts. God bless him, his family and friends.

Moriah is survived by his Wife, Chanda Bordeaux Kyyitan; Children, Chalica Bordeaux, Annecia Bordeaux and Nateo Bordeaux; Grandchildren, Amina Rose Menard, Aariyah Evelyn Menard, and Aliandra Bordeaux; Birth Mother, Saquara Kyyitan; Mother, Madeline Begay; Brothers, Delray Rivers, Bronson Begay, and Jason Bordeaux; Sisters, Nicole Kyyitan, Leora Rivers, Barbara Dixson, Judy Brown Wolf and Ayla Harmon.

He is preceded in death by Father, Roy Begay; Birth Father, Delroy Rivers; Grandma, Patsy Rivers; Mother-in-law, Mary L. Bordeaux-Clarke; Father-in-Law, Michael Clarke; his children, Desmond Draven Kyyitan and Cha-Myiah Star Kyyitan.

We want to extend a “Thank you” to the Monument Health staff who cared compassionately for Moriah and did an awesome job taking great care of him. We greatly appreciate all you did for Moriah and us!
