Obituary For Norman Johnson

Norman J. Johnson, loving, kind and generous, passed away March 3, 2018 while on hospice care in Rapid City, SD. He was 91 years old.

He was born August 17, 1926 on the family farm near Pierpont, SD. After graduating from high school, he spent time working in St. Paul and Sioux Falls before returning to the farm and began farming. In 1947, he married Priscilla Ronshaugen and built their first house on the farm.

In addition to farming, he spent many years as a carpenter building homes and other projects. In 1977, they moved to Aberdeen where he continued his work.

Norm was actively involved in his church throughout his lifetime. He loved to sing in the church choir and for 25 years, he was a member of the Aberdeen Barbershop Chorus.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; Two daughters, Karen (Roger) Collins of Rapid City and Heidi (Ernie) Hoff of Groton; Son, Kyle of Estelline; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Ilene, of Missoula, MT.
