Obituary For Olive Rose Reed

Olive Rose (Steele) Reed, passed away at Rapid City, SD surrounded by family on November 6, 2020. She was born at Cottonwood Lake, SD on December 24th, 1930 to William and Tena (Nelson) Steele. She grew up in Redfield and attended Redfiled public school. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She met Keith Reed and they were married June 14, 1948. From this marriage were 6 blessings, Keith Reed Jr (Linda); Roxanne Reed; Margaret Patterson (Ron); Shirley Laino (Bruce); Rebecca Curnutte (Jereme) and Ruth Reed; 16 grandkids; 22 great grandkids and 4 great-great grandkids. Olive was the last Monarch of all families and enjoyed every minute of it. She loved babies, kids and Jehovah. Her death was not Covid related.

In Rose’s own words: ‘In the event of my death, that I may have for all who care, a Memorial of my life at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Oriele Drive, Rapid City, SD, with Jim Stetson giving this Memorial talk. May all in my family please attend and it would please me to know all family members would attend. Showing what a meaningful life I have had as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and a sure hope of resurrection back to Life on earth a Paradise, if Jehovah’s will through Christ Jesus.’
