Obituary For Ramona B. Phipps
Ramona Beth Phipps, 84, of Mount Vernon, WA, passed away on March 28, 2023, with family around her, at Ellsworth AFB, SD. She was born on April 10, 1938, in Scottsville, AR, to Thomas and Rozetta (Gross) Rowland. Ramona (Mona) was the youngest of 9 children and moved with her family, as a child, to California. Mona had fond memories of living in Arkansas and was often asked where she was from, due to her slight southern accent. Mona was married to Larry Phipps for ten years and had three children with him.
Mona is preceded in death by her daughter Vicki, daughter Beth, sister Floy Sue, sister Grace Helen, sister Evangeline, sister Doris Elaine, brother Thomas Fearl, brother Dwain “Peck,” brother James Lawson, sister Sherrill Ann, friend Sandy, friend Jeanne, and her parents.
Mona is survived by her son Brent, adopted son/grandson Jacob, grandson Jessie, great-grandson Jason, great-granddaughter Rey Leigh Ann, great-grandson Owen Huckleberry, granddaughter-in-law Lauren Ansley, and dear friend Deb.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formally held service. However, the family would love to gather memories and photos, as keepsakes to honor her.
