Obituary For Ramona R. 'Monie' Taylor
Long time resident of Big Bend-Rimrock community, Ramona Taylor passed away peacefully on May 27. 2024. Ramona was born June 27, 1929 to Andrew and Marie Bing, the youngest of eight children.
Monie graduated from Rapid City High School. She met her future husband Howard Earl (Dusty) Taylor while visiting her sister in San Jose, California. Mona joined Dusty in a country western band and traveled the country. A very talented singer, Monie also played the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, organ and piano.
After Dusty’s death, Monie worked at a bank in Las Vegas, before returning to the Black Hills to live at Big Bend with her brother Raymond.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters, and special friend Larry Boeding. She is survived by one niece, two nephews, and five grand nieces and nephews.
Per her request there will be no funeral but friends and family are invited to Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home for snacks and a chance to share memories on May 29th. Come anytime between 4-6 pm.
