Obituary For Rebanis Mae Grueber

Rebanis Mae Grueber, age 83, of Upton, Wyoming, and formerly of Hebron, Nebraska, died Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota, after a short bout with cancer. She was born July 24, 1937, to Arthur and Cora (Dunse) Langhorst of Belvidere, Nebraska.

Rebanis was raised on the family farm by Belvidere doing her share of the chores, sewing, and preparing for her future as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was baptised and confirmed at the Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron. Upon graduation from Belvidere High School in 1956, she worked at the Russell Stover Factory in Lincoln, Nebraska. She returned to Hebron to work at the grocery store and met a handsome man. On December 7, 1958, she was married to Haroldine W. Grueber of Hebron, Nebraska, where the couple raised their two children, Karla and Vaughn.

Rebanis spent her years of marriage working at many businesses in Hebron, Nebraska. Some of them included: Hebron Legion Club, BrandX Saloon, Rexall Pharmacy, Wiedel Clothing, Amanda’s Closet, and H & H Cafe. She was an avid Husker fan and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and Lutheran Women. Her hobbies included camping, bowling, dancing, and playing cards with friends and family. She was always known by her family to be the host for holiday and birthday gatherings, complete with dinner, and homemade birthday cake and ice cream. She moved to Upton, Wyoming in 2001 where she worked as a coordinator for the Weston County Senior Meals and was a part of the United Methodist Women Organization. She is preceded in death by her husband, Haroldine, on November 25, 1995 and her parents, Arthur and Cora Langhorst.

She will be forever loved and immensely missed by her daughter, Karla (Richard) Ludemann, of Upton, Wyoming, and son, Vaughn (Jill) Grueber, of Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as her five grandchildren, Erick (Sara) Ludemann of Singapore, Alyssa (Chase) Jackson of Upton, Wyoming, Kurt (Kelsey) Ludemann of Gillette, Wyoming, Austin and Morgan Grueber of Lincoln, Nebraska; and seven great-grandchildren, Lilly, Colt, Sadie, and Eva of Upton, Wyoming; Landen and Beckett of Singapore; and Davie Belle of Gillette, Wyoming; plus several nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at 3:00 pm at the Upton Community Center with food served after service. You may watch the funeral on facebook by friending Karla Grueber Ludemann and she will add you to the group.

There will be a graveside service this summer at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hebron, Nebraska.
