Obituary For Ruth Karin Linn

Ruth Karin Linn, 93 of Rapid City, SD formerly of Banner County, NE, passed away on Thursday November 25, 2021 at Avantara North. She passed away in her sleep after a long battle with dementia. Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Ruth was born on December 1, 1927 in Elmhurst, IL to Albert and Thyra (Larson) Hagstrom. They moved to Banner County in 1934. Ruth attended and graduated from Banner County High School in 1945. She attended Chadron State College and taught school in Districts 16, 5, 3 and 4. On a visit to Linn Hardware in Kimball, she met the love of her life, Oscar Gus Linn Jr. (Butch) and married on June 20, 1948 in Kimball. Ruth’s childhood home became their home where they farmed until Butch retired. They adopted their son John Richard Linn in 1956. Ruth enjoyed spending her time between sewing, PEO, volunteering at Camp Rock, Twin Tree Sunday School and traveling. Ruth leaves behind her son Rick Linn and his wife Becky of Rapid City, SD; Grandchildren: Chad Linn and his fiancé Lucy Jackson of Gering, NE; Heath Linn and wife Rochelle of Rapid City, SD; Amanda Linn and boyfriend Tyler Schroll of Cheyenne, WY; Great grandchildren: Alexus Edwards, Max Jackson and Liam Linn. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; Husband Butch; Daughter in law Nora Kay Linn. The family has requested that any memorials made in Ruth’s honor go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
