Obituary For Scott Ray Sigler

Scott Ray Sigler, 45, Rapid City, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in Tampa, FL. He was born October 26, 1972 at Ellsworth AFB, first born son of Ian and Kathy (Lerew) Sigler. He attended the Rapid City Public Schools, SDSM & T and the University of Colorado in Denver. In 1991 ee married Rebecca Gates and his daughter Kjersti Cecile was born on March 29, 1992

Scott worked most of his career in the medical coding field in Tampa, Florida, Denver, CO and Rapid City. In 2010, Scott was the victim of a near lethal assault. God’s grace saved him then and his family is grateful for the extra time they were given. His struggle back from this assault was a testimony to his bravery and faith. Unfortunately the assault left him with brain injuries, swallowing difficulties and worsening mental health issues.

In addition to his love of God, he enjoyed music, d-jaying, photography and family. He will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, caring attitude and perseverance.

Scott is survived by his mother Kathy Sigler, Rapid City; his daughter, Kjersti Sigler, Portland, OR; his brother Shane Sigler, Rapid City; his nieces, Sidney Sigler and Krista Bauer-Valle, Rapid City; his paternal grandmother, Mary Sigler, Rapid City and many aunts, uncles , cousins and his dog Rowdy. He was preceded in death by his father, Ian Sigler, his brother Jeremy Allen Sigler, his maternal grandmother Cecile Lerew, his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Vera Sigler and his maternal grandfather Buster Everett Lerew.
