Obituary For Shirley Ann Baye

On June 5, 2018, Shirley Ann Baye, beloved wife and mother, went to be with the Lord at the age of 78. Shirley was born on November 25, 1939 in Philip, SD to Austin Thomas O’Dea and Anna Helen (Theel) O’Dea. She was raised in Cottonwood, SD and graduated from Quinn High School in 1957. She later attended Black Hills State Teachers College, studying teaching. On June 12, 1965, Shirley married Robert (Bob) Baye in Philip. They moved to Greenville, TX, where they had two sons, Patrick and Timothy. Following their move to Boulder, CO, in 1968, Shirley and Bob had three more sons, Michael, Brian, and Christopher. They moved back to Philip in 1977 and had one more son, Daniel. Ten years later, they moved to Box Elder, SD, where Shirley worked for Douglas School District for 10 years. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family: her six sons, Patrick (Tammy) Baye of Box Elder, SD; Timothy (Valeri) Baye of Broomfield, CO; Michael (Kammi) Baye of Corona, AZ; Brian (Julie) Baye of Leesburg, VA; Christopher Baye of Whidbey Island, WA; and Daniel (Kaycee) Baye of Centerville, UT. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Courtney (Josh) High, Trevor (Victoria) Baye, Haley Baye, Tyler (Christina) Eberle, Brianna Baye, Claire Baye, Jenna Baye, and Devin Baye; by five great grandchildren: Kaelyn and Kody High, James and Lily Baye, and Eleanor Eberle; and by her brother Francis “Bud” O\'Dea of Pahrump, NV. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, by her siblings Vincent O\'Dea, Laurence O\'Dea, Thomas O\'Dea, Melvin O\'Dea, Raymond O\'Dea, Delores Hercher, Eva Trimble, Mary Hansen, Rosemarie Richmond, and by her husband of 51 years, Robert Baye.
