Obituary For Stephen Michael Kurek
Stephen Michael Kurek of Rapid City, went home to the Lord on February 21st, 2025. He was born in Highland Falls, NY on November 12th, 1943 to Stephen and Helen (Treacey) Kurek. He is survived by two sons, Tracey (Gemma) Kurek and Stephen A. Kurek, best friend Mary Kurek, grandchildren River (Tosheima) Myers, Stephen (Nikki) Schmeltzer, Kayla Kurek, Stephanie Kurek, Grace Kurek, Erin Witchey, Nathan (Samantha) Cramer and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Kathleen, brother Paul, granddaughter Heather and his loving wife, Ruth. Stephen was a proud Air Force veteran, serving in Vietnam as an air traffic controller. He loved fishing, shooting pool, going to rock concerts, Rush hockey and Marshals football games, and being with his family and friends. Viewing will be at Behrens Wilson funeral home, 632 St. Francis St. In Rapid City, on Wednesday, February 26th from 2:00 to 4:00, followed by a celebration of life at VFW, 420 Main St. In Rapid City from 5:00 to 7:00. Procession for interment at Black Hills National Cemetery will leave from Behrens Wilson funeral home on Friday, February 28th, 2025 at (TBD). The family requests visitors wear happy colors as we celebrate his amazing life
