Obituary For Stephen Michael Truax

Stephen Michael Truax was born May 25, 1959, and passed away March 28, 2025 at Monument Hospital in Rapid City.

He was born in Fairmont, Minnesota to Robert and Dorothy (Myers) Truax. Steve was raised in Rapid City most of his life.

Steve was married to his wife Tama (Colvin) Truax for 40 years.

Steve drove truck for most of his life. He worked for Pete Lien & Sons for several years, before starting his own trucking business, Truax Trucking for the past 15 years.

Steve loved to fish, hunt, and golf. He especially loved to golf with his brother Dave, or nephew Derrick, or brother in law Mike Colvin when they could join him.

Steve and his wife donated every year to Wounded Warriors and St Joseph’s Indian School. Every Christmas Steve and wife Tama would donate many gifts to Toys for Tots.

Steve is survived by brother Dave Truax, Sister in Law Jackie Truax, Sister Cheryl Truax, and several nieces and nephews in
Rapid City and Lolo, Montana.

Steve was loved very much, and will be dearly missed.
