Obituary For Steven Leroy Spencer

Steven Leroy “Spence” Spencer aged 64, passed into motorcycle heaven from natural causes on August 6, 2019 at his home in Box Elder SD. The roar of motorcycles passing by on the highway to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally were the last sounds he heard as he was gently led to the big motorcycle rally in the sky, where he is likely giving advice to the founders of Harley Davidson Motorcycles on what they could have done to make their motorcycles better.

Steven was born in Mitchell, SD on June 20, 1955. He attended Mitchell and Hanson Public Schools. He traveled the country working in oil exploration and road construction.

He rode Harley Davidson motorcycles his entire life and was a collector of Harley Davidson memorabilia. He enjoyed restoring and repairing motorcycles and his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle and 1971 Chevrolet pickup. He enjoyed music and collected albums and attended many concerts. He had a quick wit and quirky sense of humor which he loved to use to joke with and tease those he was close to. He is survived by daughters Bridget Larson, Cassie Krietlow- Curl and Stevie Spencer; Grandchildren Koby, Hayden, Gage, Charlie and Chesney; Siblings Robert (Bob) and wife Karen Kinyon and Sally Knutson. He was preceded in death by his adopted parents Steven and Jacqueline (Dicus) Spencer.
