Obituary For Tanner M. Sealey

Tanner Sealey of Summerset, South Dakota /1981-2023/ Obituary

Tanner was born September 23, 1981, to Jed and Lori Sealey. Following his graduation from Colome High School in Colome, SD Tanner followed his childhood rodeo dream and attended Mitchell Tech on a scholarship for rodeo. He graduated with a degree in Building Construction and Architectural Drafting.

Tanner loved and excelled at all sports, but his favorites were Rodeo and hunting. In 2000, he was the State 4-H Steer Wrestling Champion. Tanner’s passion for hunting and the outdoors led to pro staff archery involvement, several appearances in Eastman’s Magazine and his record held with Pope and Young.

Tanner was a kind and loving partner to his spouse Candace, as well as an amazing father to their daughters Alivia and Everly and son Rhyker. HIs favorite saying was “work hard” and this is exactly how he chose to live his life.” Tanner was most well-known tending the grill on a Sunday while drinking a coors light and entertaining his friends and family.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents Jed and Lori, his wife Candace, children, Alivia (13), Rhyker (5), Everly (12mos) and brothers Jesse, JayTee (children Natalie & Hayzen) and many others.

The D. C. Booth National Fish Hatchery in Spearfish, SD, which was one of Tanner’s most beloved places to take his family, is where future donations will be accepted to memorialize his life.
